Easy Natural Remedies for Removing Blackheads

Easy Natural Remedies for Removing Blackheads

Blackheads are not always easily noticeable. You typically have to look close up to see them, yet they can be very annoying to deal with. They seem to appear out of nowhere and pop up in large groups. Since it is recommended that you never squeeze or pop your blackheads, many people turn to commercial cosmetic products for getting rid of their blackheads. These products can be expensive and might be unnecessary.

The next time you notice a group of blackheads pop up beside your nose, instead of heading to the store to purchase a blackhead removal strip or an expensive skin care treatment, try using a natural home remedy.

The following natural remedies will help you get rid of your blackheads, without causing any damage to your skin and without spending a fortune on skin care products.

Water and Clay Mixture

Beautiful woman with facial mask. The first home remedy for getting rid of blackhead is to use a water and clay mixture to create a mask. You only need one tablespoon of water and one tablespoon of clay. Combine the two ingredients until you have a paste.

Wash your face, using warm water, and then pat your face dry using a towel. Apply the water and clay paste and leave in place for twenty minutes. The mask should thoroughly dry. Rinse the mask away with warm water.

When you apply the mask, you may want to gently rub the mixture onto the area of your skin where the blackheads are located. The clay will help exfoliate your skin, allowing the blackheads to be removed.

Egg Whites

whisking raw egg whitesAnother face mask that you can try only requires one ingredient – an egg. Crack open an egg and throw out the yolk. Use a whisk to smooth the egg white. Apply the egg white to your face and allow to dry. Make sure that you apply a thin layer, so that the egg can completely dry on your face.

After this first layer dries, repeat the process twice more. You should allow each layer to dry, before applying the next layer. You should have 3 layers of dried egg white on your face. Leave the mask in place for 15 minutes and then gently scrub the egg away with warm water.
Honey

This next method does not require any drying time, which means this is the quickest home remedy for removing blackheads. Simply dip your fingers in a jar of honey and then begin scrubbing your face with the honey. You should notice that the blackheads and other impurities stick to your honey-coated fingers.

DIY Blackhead Strip

When it comes to products for removing blackheads, those expensive blackhead strips are probably one of the most common methods of dealing with the problem. Unfortunately, they are expensive and do not always work as intended. Here is a simple DIY blackhead strip that you can make using a couple of common household ingredients.

You will only need two ingredients to make this blackhead strip:

  • 1 tablespoon of gelatin powder
  • 1 tablespoon of milk

Removing Blackheads gelatinPour the tablespoon of milk into a small bowl. Slowly add the tablespoon of gelatin powder, adding a small amount at a time. Mix the two ingredients together until they are thoroughly combined. You should end up with a paste that has a slightly coarse texture.

Place the bowl in your microwave and heat on medium power for 10 seconds. You now have your own DIY blackhead strip. Use your finger to apply the mixture around your nose. Allow the mixture to sit for ten minutes. It should be completely dry. Carefully peel the strip from your face. If you examine the back of the strip, you should notice your blackhead, and other impurities, that you removed from your face.

You can use any type of milk that you choose, but it is recommended that the gelatin is unflavored, clear gelatin powder. This is a simple and affordable way to create your own blackhead strip that actually works.

Tips for Preventing Blackheads

Sometimes, the best solution for dealing with a problem is to prevent it from becoming a problem in the first place. Take a look at the following tips for preventing blackheads.

Wash your pillowcase every week. This will remove dead skin cells and oils from your pillowcase – otherwise, you are laying your head on a pillow that contains oils, impurities, and dead skin cells every night.

Facial massage in spa.Once every week or two, you should use a facial steam to open your pores. The easiest way to create a facial steam is to boil a pot of water. Hold your face above the pot and allow the steam to reach your face. Once the water begins to boil, remove from heat. Continue steaming your face for a total of ten minutes.

Use tissue paper to soak up oil, before it has a chance to accumulate. Throughout the day, simply blot your face with a tissue paper. Do not rub or wipe, just blot your face.
